HashMyFiles is a very lightweight program that allows you to calculate the MD5 and SHA1 of any file on your PC. Both values are widely used to check that a file has not been modified since each file is given a unique number after any modification.
Context menu integration
Using HashMyFiles is simple: just drag any file from your PC to the program window, after which you'll instantly see the numbers for all the cryptographic reduction algorithm types you've selected, which are all of them by default. Although this is the standard way to use this program, you can also choose to add the program to the Windows context menu. Once you've done so, you can right-click on any file and select the option to open it with HashMyFiles. You can even activate an option that opens the file directly on the VirusTotal website.
Make sure you have the original files
Downloading HashMyFiles is necessary if you suspect any file or document on your PC has been modified. Thanks to this lightweight software, you'll be able to check the MD5 and SHA1 of any file in a matter of seconds. With a single click, you can copy the values and paste them into any document you choose.
